Sherri Beideck was born in Rome, GA. A graduate of Armuchee High School, she went on to earn her BA in Organizational Leadership from Covenant College, and her MS in Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. She serves as Assistant Registrar for Georgia Highlands College, where she has been employed since 1999. Before that she was a caterer and event planner.
Sherri currently lives in Lindale with her husband of 24 years. She has a son and daughter in law living in Atlanta. She spends her time working, spending time with family, volunteering with various events, crafting, painting, reading, costume design, and traveling with friends. Sherri loves having fun with friends and loves to meet new people and try new things.
She is a member of the Exchange Club of Rome, where she served on the board for 2 years, and also served as Coosa Valley Fair art director for 5 years. She also served as event director for Seven Hills Shag Club for 3 years. She initiated an effort with athletics at GHC called Chargers Stomp Out Cancer which benefitted Paint Georgia Pink, a charitable organization that assists those diagnosed with breast cancer with day to day needs like rent, groceries, etc. She won the college’s community service award for this effort.
Sherri is a member of the Atlanta Parrot Head Club and founder and president of the Northwest Georgia Parrot Head Club in Rome, GA. This is a group whose motto is “Party with a Purpose”. NWGAPHC (as well as Atlanta PHC) is a chapter of the national organization, Parrot Heads In Paradise, Inc. Sherri (and the NWGAPHC) is involved in many charitable (and fun) activities throughout the year. She also founded the group Naughty Buffett Chicks, a branch of the NWGAPHC that loves to dress up and bring a little extra fun to these events. Some of these include Meeting of the Minds, Parrot Head Rendezvous, Putt Putt Pub Crawl, Music on the Bay, Pardi Gras and other fun, charitable events that give back to the communities in the areas in which they are held.
Sherri is incredibly honored to be a part of A Night to Remember: An Adult Prom to aid in the fight against Alzheimer’s. She is participating in memory of an uncle and other friends whose lives have been touched by this disease. Now, let’s have some fun and Party with a Purpose!
