I’d like to keep this short and sweet. I am a wife and mother of 3 humans and 3 fur babies. I love concerts and most of all helping people. I still have one grandmother on this earth with me. She suffers from mild to moderate dementia. I’ve had another grandmother pass away from the effects of dementia. However, back then it was something that wasn’t spoken of. We just knew and went on with our lives. As I got older helping our aging community really sank in. I fell in love. I have been a home care consultant for Home Instead for the last 6 years and could not imagine being anywhere else in my career. It is my calling.

4 years ago, I attended my first prom just for fun. The following year I was on the board. This non-profit is changing our face and I have so much hope and determination to create something special for our aging community. Especially those who are caring for and suffering from this terrible disease. As with most issues in life, you don’t really pay attention to them until they touch your life. So, to those who may not know much about dementia...we all know addiction in one form or another. Imagine if you haven’t lived it, watching your loved one go down the rabbit hole of addiction. Watching them slowly disappear. Your heart, sole, and being hurts for them. Yet there is nothing you can do. This is the feeling a loved one has watching and caring for dementia family members and friends. The only difference here is a person can choose not to be addicted and overcome. With dementia, there is no choice. So, as I venture to not only to see this non-profit succeed, I am here to help make our dream come true and create a respite relief dementia program to help our communities and those caring for loved ones with dementia. A short, sweet piece of me....
